EXPERIENCE
Asitu’lɨsk is a place where all are welcomed as relatives. Rooted in Mi’kma’ki, it is a place where the land holds memory, teachings are shared across generations, and people reconnect with language, culture, spirit, and one another.
Here, the forest teaches. The fire listens. The land reminds us who we are.
Learn
Beneath the ancient hemlocks and alongside the waters of Wentzell Lake, learning happens through story, experience, curiosity, and connection. Asitu’lɨsk welcomes cultural camps, workshops, gatherings, and programs that bring together Indigenous Knowledge, science, art, and innovation in a good way.
Gather
From ceremony beneath the trees to drumming circles in the meadow, Asitu’lɨsk offers welcoming spaces that hold warmth, reflection, and togetherness. The lodge, pavilion, farmhouse, and gathering areas are ready to welcome you.
Heal
Walk gently beneath Grandmother Maple and the old-growth hemlock forest. Sit beside the beaver pond, wander the meadow paths, or pause along the more than 30 km of walking trails. Asitu’lɨsk is a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what grounds us. Many come here seeking balance, healing, and renewal.
Learn
Learn with the land as your teacher.
It has long been our hope to see Indigenous youth learning beneath the same forest canopy their ancestors once walked generations ago.
At Asitu’lɨsk, the land is a teacher, a relative, and a guide. Our outdoor gathering areas throughout the grounds create opportunities for connection and learning. We welcome those who wish to learn with us through cultural camps like Ulnooweg Education Centre’s Land Camp, land stewardship initiatives, language revitalization, ceremonies, or community-led programs grounded in connection to the land.
Whether learning traditional skills from Elders, exploring forest stewardship, or gathering around the fire, every experience is grounded in relationship to the land.
Gather
Gather in spaces designed for belonging.
Asitu’lɨsk offers a variety of welcoming spaces for gathering, learning, ceremony, and rest.
Hold meetings in the lodge, gather around the fire, share songs and stories in the meadow, or host camps and workshops surrounded by the natural world. For overnight stays, small suites are available in the lodge along with accommodations in the farmhouse, creating space for groups to settle in comfortably during multi-day gatherings that feel like home. Meals can be shared under the open sky, around the kitchen table, or beside the fire.
Whether you are here for a day or staying awhile, we hope you feel cared for, rested, and at home.
Heal
Find balance in the presence of the land.
At Asitu’lɨsk, healing begins in relationship—with the land, with language, with spirit, and with one another. Throughout the seasons, gatherings and ceremonies bring generations together to share teachings, stories, songs, and ways of being carried forward since time immemorial. Beneath the embrace of Grandmother Maple and throughout the forest, people gather in ceremony, reflection, and community.
Asitu’lɨsk is also home to Chii By, an Ancestor Ceremony that returned in 2022 after not being held for generations. Brought forth by our Elders and relatives of Turtle Lodge, its return reminds us that our teachings are still here, waiting to be remembered, shared, and carried forward.
We invite you to follow along and stay connected to upcoming gatherings, ceremonies, and community events.
